Why I chose Animas High School.

I chose Animas High School for many reasons, a few of those reasons are the rigorous academics, the fabulous faculty, and the culture.  I made the decision to transfer from Durango High School to Animas when at the beginning of sophomore year; I am very satisfied with my choice.  There are certain aspects in which Animas excels compared to normal public high schools.  For example, the academics are considerably more rigorous and we are held to higher standards.  This is due to the size of our school and the faculty.  Our school is considerably smaller than most high schools; this enables us to build better relationships with our teachers.  This also gives our teachers the ability to monitor each student more closely.  We are held on tighter leashes; making excellence a necessity.  There is very little room for slacking, which in the end, produces better work and better students.  Also, the culture at Animas is unlike many other high schools.  This school is just like one big family.  From the students to the administrators, everyone has tight nit relationships giving every student countless areas of support.  It is and accepting and considerate culture to say the least.  There are quite a few reasons that I chose to come to Animas High School, and these are just a few.
